Properties: light yellow amorphous powder or hexagonal or cubic crystal. No smell. Easily soluble in cyanide and iodide base solutions, soluble in concentrated hydroiodate acid, bromide base, chloride base, thiocyanate base, thiosulfuric acid base, mercury nitrate and silver nitrate solutions, almost insoluble in acid other than water, hydroiodate acid and ammonium carbonate solutions.
